Chornicle of events of Sri Chaitanya mahaprabhu’s life *
A. Adi Lilă: Pre-sannyāsa life
- February 18, 1486: Chaitanya was born in the evening in Navadvipa.
- March 9, 1486: At the christening ceremony the boy was named Viśvambhara and Nimai.
- 1497: Jagannatha Miśra, his father, disappeared.
- 1501-1502: His first marriage with Laksmi, daughter of Vallabha Acārya, occurred.
- 1505: He began his career as a teacher and set up a Sanskrit school.
- 1506 He undertook a journey to the East Bengal with a view to acquiring wealth by means of teaching. During his absence, his wife Laksmi disappeared because of a snake-bite.
- 1507: His second marriage with Vişnupriyā, daughter of Sanatana Miśra, took place.
- 1508: He undertook a pilgrimage to Gayā to perform the Śrāddha of his departed father. There he had an encounter with Iśvara Puri and was initiated by him. He heard a celestial voice giving hints of his incarnated divinity.
- December, 1508 He returned home from Gaya metamorphosed.
- January, 1509: He began to reveal his signs and symptoms of Avataārahood as well as emotional ecstasy during Kirtana.
- June-July, 1509: He revealed himself as the incarnation of Vişnu during the worship of Vyāsa in Śrīvāsa’s house.
- July-August, 1509: He was ceremoniously consecrated to the Vaisnavite leadership as the Avatara and was adored and hymned in Śrīvāsa’s house.
- November-December, 1509: He organized and spearheaded a massive procession against the Kazi of Navadvipa.
- January 25, 1510: He lens the Kazi of Nad of night with a view to embracing a new lastete dead of night
B. Madhya and Antya Lila: Post-sannyasa life
- January 26, 1510: He became a sannyasi following the performance of religious rites and ceremonious initiation in sannyāsahood by Keśava Bharati at Käțoyä. He was re- christened Srikrsnacaitanya.
- January 27-30, 1510: He made a tour in different parts of Rädha accompanied by Nityananda and then came to the village Phuliya to meet Haridāsa.
- February 1, 1510: He visited Advaita Acārya at his Šäntipura residence.
- February 4, 1510: He left Šäntipura and set out on a journey towards Nilācala.
- March, 1510: After visiting the temple of Lord Jagannatha, he converted Väsudeva Särvabhauma to Vaisnavism.
- April, 1510: He undertook a long pilgrimage in South India, which continued for about two years and during which he met and had a long discourse with Rämänanda Räya in 1511.
- September 28, 1514 He set out on a tour. Rüpa and Sanatana met him at Rämakeli. His mother went to see him at Säntipura.
- 1515 He set out on a pilgrimage towards Vendāvana probably in August-September.
- January, 1516 He came to Prayaga, where he imparted theological lessons to Rūpa Gosvämi. He then came to Väränasi, where he taught Sanatana Gosvämi.
- February, 1516 He started for Bengal and came to Navadvipa.
- May, 1516: He returned to Puri, where the lived for the remaining eighteen years of his life uninterrupted.
- 1521: His last phase of continuous divine ecstasy and withdrawal from the phenomenal world of sense perception began to take shape.
- March 9, 1533: Haridäsa disappeared and he took part in the disappearance ceremony.
- June 29, 1533: He disappeared
